My name is Dimitris Papitsis, born in
Athens in 1975. I work as an enterprise IT network consultant and also
in the field of homeland security products’ distribution and have been
active in amateur astronomy since 1989, with my first telescope being
a Tasco 60mm refractor, then a Vixen 90mm equatorial refractor and finally
a computerized Meade ETX. I have been a member of the first Athens astronomy
group back in 1993 and have envisioned supernova searching projects
in times when it was not feasible. I am happy to be participating in
a group where this project is implemented successfully and systematically.
